I was once asked what thrilled me most about a wedding? Honestly, I don’t think my answer has changed much from being a teenager to being in my late twenties. I come from a very big family of musicians. I am the oldest of five children, and each of us plays an instrument, sings, and has some sort of artistic ability. My parents met in a choir back in New York City, and both of them are very talented people. They would put on benefit concerts that my sisters, brothers, and I would later be added to as we got older. My parents not only went and did Ministries/concerts at local prisons, churches, and other venues in our area, but they also did a lot of weddings.
Because I am the oldest, I was usually the one that was able to tag along on most of their gigs. There was something so beautiful about the settings: the flowers, the pastel, bright colors, the artwork, and delicate care to every detail. I was fascinated by literally everything my eyes could see.
I was the kid that watched Jennifer Lopez in “The Wedding Planner” religiously as a kid. She is all I ever wanted to be… I would watch that movie 3xs a day sometimes. And that is really where my love for weddings began.
I’ve always loved to sing, and I have always loved weddings! So, when I followed in my parents’ footsteps and started to sing at weddings, it honestly felt like a package deal for me. It felt like a win. I was singing and making myself, but more importantly, the couple happy…what could be better than that.
After I had my daughter, I suffered from severe Postpartum depression. As soon as I came to terms with my postpartum, Covid hit, and I took a long pause from performing in general. Thanks to Ceremonies by Lori, my gifts can be shared with the world again. Ceremonies by Lori has allowed me to do what I love and be surrounded in a setting that I’ve adored and loved for years.
I’d be happy to oblige if you’ve ever thought about having a wedding singer!
It’s some of the most fun I’ve ever had in my life!
Whatever song you want me to sing… I will learn if I don’t already know it. Singing is my passion, and it means so much to me. Let me and Ceremonies by Lori be a part of your special day! Call us to book your wedding officiant and SINGER…you will NOT be disappointed.
