Anthony Melf

Officiant

Anthony believes in the power of love and takes pride in supporting people celebrating their love for one another. As an officiant, Anthony strives to create an experience true to the spirit and hearts of the people involved, a space where people can be themselves and lean into the joy of the occasion. When two dear friends asked Anthony to officiate their wedding ceremony, he got ordained through American Marriage Ministries. With Lori’s guidance as his mentor, Anthony officiated his friends’  ceremony on a closed public street in Downtown Wilkes-Barre, which so happens to be his hometown.

Since then, Anthony has officiated weddings for other close friends including on a cruise ship out of Long Beach, California and at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. After creating these cherished memories with loved ones, Anthony officially joined the team at Ceremonies by Lori to make his support available to others on their special day.  Anthony chose Ceremonies by Lori because he shares the team’s approach to involving each couple in the creative process when creating the wedding ceremony. He also firmly believes that love does not discriminate.

Throughout his life,  Anthony has had the honor of serving in various roles at weddings including the Best Man at his brother Larry’s wedding, a Groomsman for his now brother-in-law David, and a Bridesman for his close friend Megan who has always been more like family!

Anthony attributes his passion for public speaking and writing to his experiences participating in high school speech and debate. He continued to hone his skills at King’s College earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Writing while also enjoying time on stage in the Theatre Department.  Anthony is the Business Development Manager at Coal Creative, a full-service creative agency.

Ultimately, Anthony respects and values the vulnerability and courage it takes to love someone and enjoys helping people honor their unique love story and journey in whatever way feels most authentic and real for them. It is often in officiating that Anthony witnesses the mysteries of love at work through bold, brave acts. Each time he is reminded of the power we all hold to dare to live a little brighter, a little bigger if we follow our hearts and say yes to happiness, to the road ahead, and the person we travel with as our chosen and dearest companion.
